Pwani University closed indefinitely
Pwani University in Kilifi was yesterday evening shut downdue to tension caused by students who were suspended over fee balance. It is in last year that the university was also closed due to lack of water.
The students who were involved refused to move out of the campus premise and who insisted to continue learning without clearing with the finance department.
The university had on Monday issued a notice ordering students who had not
cleared tuition fees for the second semester to defer their studies until they clear the semester payment.
The university examinations had been scheduled to begin on February
15, and about 30 per cent" of the student body had not cleared the fee to sit for examination.
Though the affected students had been asked to leave the campus , they were hanging
around and inciting other students.
