A Kenyan teacher who teaches against violentextremism is one of 10 finalists in the world's best teacher whose price is up for $1m (£690,000) :BBC has reported.
Ayub Mohamud teaches at a school known as a recruiting ground for Islamist militants.
He said he was excited and humbled by his nomination by the Varkey Foundation, which works to improve the education of underprivileged children. Kenya has been hit by several large-scale terror attacks in recent years with the Garissa university attack being one of the worst claiming 147 lifes
