Sources state that they heard the blasts at Strathmore University in Kenyan capital: Nairobi, causing panic among several of the students.
Reports indicate that some students were injured during the incident.
However, it has been reported by authorities that the gunshots were part of terror drill by local anti terror police.
It has not yet been explained why the drill was done near such an institution keeping it that students are in tension since the Garissa University attack.
