Cry for help: Rose Mbula Nduva

You probably have come across her story. Perhaps in
the newspapers or on your TV screen. She's the girl
who had a fall in India and broke her parietal bones on
the head resulting to the bones being preserved in her
stomach. Quite a story.
The accident happened sometimes in December 2014,
and after managing her condition she was flown back
home. She has been bedridden since then.
2 weeks ago I caught up with her at Naidu Hospital,
Thika. Quite charming but still fighting on. We only
communicated through our eyes. She was admitted at
the hospital because of the bedsores, dehydration and
lack of feeding. They needed reassurance she's still
fighting on.
I met Mbula's mum who disclosed her daughter had
already been issued discharge letter after treating the
bed sores but she had no where to take her in her
present condition. She can't feed on solid food, she
can't talk, just occasionally and with quite some
pleading that she labors to move her right hand. Her
eyes make all the communication. The hospital bill is
skyrocketing.
The much Naidu Hospital can do, and they have done
extremely well, us to dress her wounds and ensure the
feeding is perfect. They also treated her of Deep
Venous Thrombosis, DVT, after detection in the process
of hospital management.
The only reconstructive surgery she can have at least
to restart her life is in India. The hospital's estimated
bill is about Kshs 1.5M and some other flight,
accomodation expenses making it roughly Kshs 2.5M.
Her poor mother from Kilima Mbogo, Machakos County
is depressed about this. By last week, they had only
raised Kshs 145,000.
But we can help 25 year old Mbula Nduva. We can
bring hope to her family. How?
